Buying guide: bulk materials by the cubic metre
Measure the area
Multiply length × width × depth in metres to get cubic metres (m³). Allow about 10% extra for settling, or 20 to 30% for road base that you'll compact.
Use the right depth
Typical depths are 30 mm for paver bedding, 75 mm for mulch, 100 mm under new turf, 100 to 150 mm for a driveway base and 300 mm for a new garden bed.
Check weight and access
Heavier materials need bigger trucks. Let us know about narrow gates, overhead wires, steep driveways or soft ground when you book so the right vehicle turns up.
Prepare the drop zone
Clear a firm, level spot close to where you'll use the material. Lay a tarp on decorative driveways to make clean-up easy.

How does materials delivery work with Tipaload?

How much does landscape supplies delivery cost?
Every material shows its price per tonne, including GST. Delivery depends on your address, the quantity and the truck needed. It's calculated instantly when you enter your address and shown before you pay, so there are no surprises.
What is the minimum order?
You can order from 1 cubic metre. For bigger jobs, the booking automatically recommends the right tipper and number of loads.
How do I work out how many cubic metres I need?
Multiply length × width × depth in metres. For example, a 5 m × 4 m area at 75 mm deep is 5 × 4 × 0.075 = 1.5 m³. Use our calculator and it adds a 10% allowance for compaction and settling.
How many tonnes are in a cubic metre?
It depends on the material. Sand, road base and gravel weigh about 1.5 to 1.8 tonnes per m³, soils about 1.0 to 1.5 tonnes, and mulch only about 0.3 to 0.4 tonnes. Each product page lists its approximate weight.
Can I choose when my materials arrive?
Yes. Choose today, tomorrow or a specific date, subject to availability, and a 2-hour window between 7am and 5pm.
Where will the truck tip my materials?
The tipper drops the load on your driveway or a clear, firm area of your site. Add notes about gate width, overhead wires, slopes or soft ground when you book. If the truck must tip on a public road or nature strip, check your council's rules first.
Are your prices GST inclusive?
Yes. All material prices on this site include GST. Businesses can request a quote or tax invoice during checkout.
