Australian yards are not one soil. Clay, coastal sand, new turf and a veggie patch each need a different blend.

Buying guide
Landscape yards, councils and gardeners do not all use the same name. These are the terms people search when they want soil delivered.
Where it can go
People looking for soil in Australia are usually buying landscaping soil for a lawn, a garden or a level change. Enter a Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra or regional address and the quote shows whether a carrier can tip there, and what the delivered load costs. The truck drops the soil on a clear, firm area such as a driveway.

Before you order
The soil itself is priced per tonne and the price includes GST. Delivery is calculated from your address, the quantity and the tipper needed to carry the weight. You see the delivered total before you pay.
Screened topsoil is a general-purpose soil for levelling, filling and building up garden areas. Garden soil, often called garden mix, is blended with organic matter so it is ready to plant into. Veggie mix is richer again, for vegetable patches.
Garden mixes are about 1.0 to 1.1 tonnes per cubic metre. Topsoil, sandy loam and clean fill are about 1.3 to 1.5 tonnes. Wet soil weighs more, so the truck is matched to the load.
Use turf underlay or sandy loam about 100 mm deep. Level and lightly compact it, then lay buffalo, kikuyu, couch or zoysia. For an existing lawn, an 80/20 sand and soil blend is the usual top dressing.
Many natives, including grevilleas, banksias and waratahs, are sensitive to phosphorus. Use a low-phosphorus native soil mix rather than a rich veggie mix or a high-phosphorus garden blend.
No. Clean fill here is landscaping soil for raising levels and filling holes. VENM (virgin excavated natural material) and ENM (excavated natural material) are classifications for soil being moved off a site, and they need the right paperwork. If a council or receiving site asks for a certificate, this order will not supply one.
Multiply length by width by depth in metres. A 10 m by 5 m lawn at 100 mm deep is 5 cubic metres. A 4 m by 1 m bed at 300 mm deep is 1.2 cubic metres. The calculator on this page does that sum and converts it to tonnes.
Enter your site address when you order. Delivery is quoted for that address and depends on carrier availability, access and the size of the load. The same applies in Adelaide, Canberra, the Gold Coast, Newcastle, Wollongong, Geelong and other areas we can service.
You can order from 1 cubic metre. Larger jobs are split across the right tipper, and the booking shows the number of loads before you pay.
Yes. Buying soil and taking soil away are different jobs. Excavated soil, clay and mixed spoil need a disposal booking, and some loads need classification before a facility will take them.
