Is recycled road base good for driveways?
Yes. Recycled road base compacts firmly and is widely used for residential driveways, hardstands and paths. Lay it in 75 to 100 mm layers, dampen and compact.
What is recycled aggregate made from?
Mainly crushed concrete and masonry from demolition, processed and screened to size. Recycled asphalt comes from milled road surfaces.
Why is recycled material cheaper?
It is made from material that would otherwise go to landfill, so it avoids quarrying costs. That saving is passed on in the price per tonne.
